Virginia Chu


Virginia Chu Sau Man, theatre director, actress, creative arts facilitator, and taiko drummer, is the co-founder of Clash Theatre Group􏰗􏰘􏰙􏰚􏰛, Taraf de Mui Wo and O-Daiko. Her theatre works include “Interaction: Sexual Harassment”, “Who got Amnesia? Be Emperor Tsang not”, “Hong Kong 50 Years Bugs”, “Jam Era”, “Love Letter”, “Impro on Inner Stories”, “Unbearable Dreams”, “Black Hole III ”, “Lu Xun 2010”, and “Urban Ark”.

Mui Wo

Li Wai Mei


Li Wai Mei received her Bachelor of Music degree at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Hong Kong. She is currently the percussion instructor of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, independent cultural event producer and cross-disciplinary performer. Wai Mei’s current artistic interests include the correlation between sound, space, body and movement, the cultural identity in different drumming styles, experimental art creation and cross-disciplinary art.

Mui Wo

Camilla Tong


Camilla Tong studied music at the Conservatoire de Paris in 1967. After a decade of teaching, she embarked into a career in public relations  which brought her to Monte Carlo, Singapore, Macao and Shenzhen. In 1993, she teamed up with violinist Shoko Fujioka in playing gypsy and classical music and in 2002, she joined the Resa Orchestra in Toronto under conductor Resa Kochberg, playing flute 2 for the orchestra. Back in Hong Kong, she participated with the Hong Kong Flute Orchestra in public concerts. The world premiere of ‘Mountain Song’ composed by Camilla was performed during the concert “Convergence” in 2011 at the Sheung Wan Civic Centre Theatre. Most recently, she has been playing jazz music, notably with jazz flutist Ralph Thomas at Northgate Jazz Club, Chiangmai.  She also collaborated with dancers for performances in various venues in HK.

Mui Wo

Karman Wong


Educated at the Department of Cultural Studies in Lingnan University, Karman Wong is interested in the customs and cultures across the world, and innovation in traditional culture. Since she learned about the impact of taiko on Japanese traditional culture, and its evolution in Europe and the US, she has been intrigued by the instrument. She started learning taiko and body movement with Virginia Chu till now. She aspires to create a versatile style of taiko that inherits the spirit of Hong Kong.
